Just arrived in part exchange is this versatile Citroen Xsara Picasso. Registered in February 2007 as a late '56' plate and finished in metallic red with a complimentary, and slightly unusual, two-tone cappuccino and cream interior, the car has covered just under 122,000 miles from new. Which on these Citroen diesel engines is barely run in. It's the 1.6 litre turbo diesel engine, with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The performance is adequate, if not breathtaking, but the car will return an easy 50mpg on a run if not more. The car actually drives really nicely, with no untoward noises or hesitation. Cosmetically there's a bit of lacquer peel, which is not unusual on any French car of this age, but it's generally pretty tidy for the year. These still make good family cars, or a useful load lugger for trades people. Either way, it'll make inexpensive transport for a good few years yet for someone.
